Recently, I had the opportunity to present again at FOSDEM, a fantastic community conference focused on free and open-source software.

This time, I spoke about our new project, the DNF Manifest plugin, which enables use cases for building container images in isolated environments - and potentially many others. The concept revolves around lock files, similar to those in NPM or Rust’s Cargo, preserving the state of RPM packages along with information on where to download the actual content.

I hope my performance improved compared to last time. Personally, I felt more natural and at ease. A funny coincidence - just before I started preparing my talk, I came across a LinkedIn post with tips on presentation preparation. It turned out to be surprisingly helpful! I created a mind map to outline the core ideas I wanted to expand on and practiced using that instead of memorizing the speech. This approach made me feel much more confident.

If you’re curious about how it went, check out the recording here. You’ll also find many of other fascinating talks, all free to watch!
